TASK: Your task is to build a website for your subject using WordPress
- Step one: Go the WordPress website and click on the Get Started button
- Use your CEWA email and password to create a WordPress account.
This should be structured with the first letter of your first name, followed by your last name, then @student.cewa.edu.au.
e.g: bseymour@student.cewa.edu.au
- Choose an appropriate username.
Some usernames are already taken. You may have to try adding a number or a different username
e.g: bseymour - Your password should be sjbc followed by your last name.
e.g: sjbcseymour
- Use your CEWA email and password to create a WordPress account.
When you have entered the correct data, click on create your account
- Step two: The next page will ask you choose a domain.
This is what people will type into the URL section of their web browser to find your website.- Your Digital Technology website domain structure should be Bosco DT followed by your first and last name
e.g: boscodtbrittanyseymour - Select the free option
- Your Digital Technology website domain structure should be Bosco DT followed by your first and last name
- Step three: The next page will ask you to choose a plan. We will choose only the free options.
- Click on start with a free site
- Step four: Next will ask, where will you start?
- Click on Start Building
- Step five: Next you are asked to choose a theme.
- Scroll down until you find the theme titled ‘Quadrat White’
- Select to apply this theme
Congratulations, you have just built a website!
How to get home?
- Step six: Click on the big W in the top left of the screen, then click on Dashboard
Title your Materials Website
- Step seven: Click on settings, then in the site title space, write Digital Technology
